GENE CAMPAIGN is a leading NGO working for the
food and livelihood security of farming and tribal communities. Gene Campaign’s
work is spread over several states in the country and among its other
activities, it also works with Adivasi communities in Jharkhand, helping to
create income opportunities for Adivasi women by processing forest produce like BAEL, IMLI and MANGO.
All these products are collected from the
pristine forests of Jharkhand . They are natural and untouched by preservatives
or chemicals. Adivasi women organized into Self Help Groups have cleaned and
packaged these products for use in your homes.
Bael has been used in India since ancient
times. It is very rich in vitamins and minerals and is good for digestion. It
is particularly beneficial in constipation.
For a nourishing drink, mix 1 teaspoon Bael
powder in warm milk and add sugar to taste. OR make a sharbat in cold water or
milk during summer.
Amchur. This amchur is made from small wild
mangoes collected from the forest. These are sun dried and hand pounded.
