Padma Shri for Dr Suman Sahai

Dr Suman Sahai was awarded the Padma Shri by the President of India on 26 January 2011 for her contribution to genetic literacy and the conservation of biodiversity. The Padma Awards are the country’s highest civilian honour and are given for distinguished service. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year and are conferred by the President of India at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan
