What We Stand For

Revival of the Indigenous basis of health veterinary care and conserving medicinal flora

Health and veterinary care in India has never properly reached backward areas. The indigenous systems of medicine, which have been the mainstay of the community, have been neglected in government policy and hence suffered a decline. On the other hand, it is likely that patents on medicines and globalization will push drug prices even further out of the reach of ordinary people, making their access to health care even worse than before.

The only way to establish a system of affordable (and holistic) health care is to build on the foundation of traditional healing using medicinal plants and indigenous practices.

For the revival, of indigenous basis of health, we are trying to restore access to medicinal plants, encourage the planting of herbal gardens and make available locally produced herbal formulations at reasonable cost.

Establishment of herbal gardens in villages.

Plantation of medicinal plants in public spaces, school, college and university campus to sensitize and educate people about medicinal flora and indigenous healing.

Preparation of herbal formulations for simple ailments, under the guidance of Vaidyas by locals for common ailments

(Gene campaign has set up herbal gardens at village level and district level)
